My Name is Aaron Gardner
I am a qualified Person centred counsellor and a Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I live with my wife and children in Herefordshire, though originally from New Zealand where I grew up. I have worked in various jobs from farming to retail as a gardener. I was also a carer for a number of years which led me to counselling.
My Experience
I currently work as a counsellor at three High schools and a college as well as private individuals. My experience includes working 4 years counselling adult carers and 4 years with probation services. I have also worked with young homeless people.
What counselling involves
It's brave to decide to come to counselling. To face what may be hidden or the questions that have never had answers. It's not always easy and there may be some fear about opening up and putting words to the thoughts that tumbled around in our minds. Counselling sessions will be an opportunity to talk through your feelings in a safe, accepting, non-judgemental and compassionate environment. It is your time to be really listened to and be heard. We work together to help you gain a greater understanding of yourself and be more the person you want to be.

Issues relating to anxiety, depression, stress, adapting to change, role as a carer, avoidance, anger, trauma, grief, low mood, intrusive thoughts, panic attacks, emotional regulation, confidence, addiction, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, motivation, loneliness, bullying, family relationships, sexuality, growing up and independence, exam stress, ADHD, self-control, physical and mental abuse.

Foundation degree in Person centred counselling 2017.
BTEC level 3 diploma in counselling skills 2015.
Safeguarding adults level two 2022. Safeguarding children and young people level three 2022,
Registered member of the BACP.
